§ 01Independent Contractor Relationship
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you ("Contractor") and LawnMowPros.com ("Company," "we," "us"). By submitting an application and accessing our platform, you agree to these Terms in full.
You are an independent contractor, not an employee. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency between you and LawnMowPros. You have no authority to bind LawnMowPros to any obligation.
As an independent contractor, you retain full control over how, when, and where you perform services, subject to the completion standards in Section 7. You may work for other clients and platforms simultaneously, provided it does not interfere with accepted LawnMowPros jobs.
§ 02Platform Access & Eligibility
To access the LawnMowPros contractor platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal right to work in the United States
- Own or have reliable access to lawn care equipment sufficient to complete assigned jobs
- Have a valid Stripe account connected to your bank account for payment
- Maintain a smartphone capable of receiving SMS notifications and accessing the contractor portal
- Operate within the zip codes and radius you designated during onboarding
We reserve the right to approve or deny applications at our sole discretion. Approved status may be revoked at any time per Section 9.
§ 03Job Assignments
When a customer books a service in your coverage area, you will receive an SMS notification with job details including the address, service type, scheduled date, and your payout amount.
Acceptance: You may accept or decline any job. There is no penalty for declining occasional jobs. However, consistently declining jobs (more than 50% of offers over a 30-day period) may result in reduced assignment priority or removal from the platform.
Cancellation: Once you accept a job, you are expected to complete it. If you must cancel an accepted job, you must notify us at least 24 hours before the scheduled date via the contractor portal or by texting our dispatch line. Same-day cancellations without valid cause may affect your rating and assignment priority.
§ 04Standards of Conduct
While performing services, you agree to:
- Treat all customers and their property with respect
- Complete the full scope of the booked service (mow, edge, blow) to a professional standard
- Not solicit customers to book directly outside the LawnMowPros platform — this includes providing personal contact info or offering discounts for cash payment
- Not damage customer property, and immediately report any accidental damage to us and the customer
- Not enter structures, garages, or fenced areas without explicit customer permission
- Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times on-site
- Upload a completion photo after every job through the contractor portal
Circumvention: Soliciting or accepting direct payment from LawnMowPros customers — for any service — is a material breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate permanent termination and potential legal action to recover platform damages.
§ 05Payment & Platform Fee
For each completed job, you receive 70% of the customer's total payment. LawnMowPros retains 30% as a platform fee covering customer acquisition, scheduling infrastructure, payment processing, and support.
Payout schedule: Earnings for all jobs completed in a given week (Monday–Sunday) are transferred to your Stripe account every Friday. Funds typically appear in your bank account within 1–2 business days depending on your bank.
Payouts require a fully onboarded Stripe Express account. Jobs completed before Stripe onboarding is complete will be held and released upon successful onboarding, for up to 30 days.
We reserve the right to withhold payment for jobs where there is evidence of fraud, damage, or material non-completion pending investigation.
§ 06Taxes, Insurance & Equipment
Taxes: As an independent contractor, you are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on your earnings, including self-employment tax. LawnMowPros will not withhold taxes on your behalf. You will receive a 1099-NEC form if your annual earnings exceed $600.
Insurance: You are strongly encouraged to maintain general liability insurance. LawnMowPros does not provide insurance coverage for your work, your equipment, or any damage you cause while on a job. You assume full liability for your actions and equipment while performing services.
Equipment: You are responsible for providing, maintaining, and operating your own lawn care equipment in safe working condition. LawnMowPros provides no equipment, fuel, or maintenance support.
§ 07Job Completion Standards
A job is considered complete when:
- All contracted services have been performed (mow, edge where applicable, blow clippings)
- A clear completion photo has been uploaded through the contractor portal showing the finished lawn
- The job status has been marked "Complete" in the portal
Photos must clearly show the serviced area. Blurry, incomplete, or fraudulent photos will result in delayed payment pending review.
§ 08Ratings & Disputes
After each job, customers may leave a 1–5 star rating. Your average rating is visible on your contractor profile and influences job assignment priority. Contractors maintaining a rating above 4.5 receive priority on new job offers in their area.
If a customer disputes a job (claims work was not completed, property was damaged, etc.), LawnMowPros will investigate by reviewing the completion photo, customer account, and any communication. During investigation, associated payment may be held. We will notify you and give you the opportunity to respond before any decision is made.
§ 09Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may stop accepting jobs at any time — simply do not respond to or decline new offers. Outstanding earnings for completed jobs will be paid on the next scheduled Friday payout.
LawnMowPros may suspend or permanently terminate your access immediately and without notice for:
- Customer solicitation or circumvention of the platform
- Job abandonment or repeated no-shows
- Fraudulent job completion (fake photos, incomplete work)
- Damage to customer property without reporting
- Abusive behavior toward customers or LawnMowPros staff
- Any conduct that brings reputational harm to LawnMowPros
§ 10Limitation of Liability
LawnMowPros provides a technology platform connecting customers with independent contractors. We are not a lawn care company and do not perform lawn services ourselves. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- LawnMowPros is not liable for any damage to property caused by Contractor during the performance of services
- LawnMowPros is not liable for any personal injury sustained by Contractor while performing services
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the total platform fees earned from your account in the 30 days preceding the claim
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Portland, Oregon.
